We are very proud of our stock as we have been successfully raising roping, reining, and barrel horses from top bloodlines for the past 50 years, and over this time, have earned a reputation for having beautiful, good-minded, gentle horses that are easy to break and train.  The “Success Stories” as well as the “Ranch History” Pages will show you some of the successes our horses have been capable of attaining

As of December 2016, we have reorganized this page with one section of our latest models (weanlings) followed by a second section of yearlings and older horses.  We hope this makes it easier to find the horse that will suit you best.

We hope you will find something you like.  The following listing details our sale policies:

1.   4-Hers and any other children taking part in any horse youth organization will receive a 10% discount

2.   Each colt will be registered, fully vaccinated, and wormed before leaving the ranch.

3.   Halter-breaking is also available, if you request it; however, there will be a small additional charge for this service.

4.   We normally do not take trades for our horses, and we do not breed outside mares.

5.   To hold any colt, we require a non-refundable deposit of 1/3rd of the price of the colt. We will expect the colts to be picked up two weeks after weaning unless other arrangements have been made for us to board the colts for an additional length of time.

2016 Weanlings

2016 Palomino Filly “Buttercup”

Date of Birth: April 10, 2016  Date of Picturs: August 13, 2016 and October 20, 2016

Dam: MBJ Copper Queen AQHA 5144626 (Mariah)

Sire: Likemeyers AQHA 5258355 2009 Red Roan Stallion (Chick)

Buttercup’s dam (Mariah) is by a Blue Valentine, 2-eyed-Jack stud that has Mito Paint, Native Dancer, and Go Man Go on his dam’s side.  Mariah’s dam is out of a working cow horse mare that is the last producing daughter of a double-bred King mare with an ROM in reining that won the Texas state 4-H finals in reining out of 285 qualifiers, and was a consistent winning horsemanship and reining mare throughout her showing career.  She (Copper Queen Gee) one of the most important contributors to the Rocking N broodmare band.  Mariah was trained for calf roping by James Free, and we were so impressed with her first colt that we used him for stud when he was 2.  He has been in training for calf roping at James Free’s. This stallion (DD Valentine King) will be standing at the Rocking N in 2017.  Buttercup’s sire, “Chick,” is a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and a granddaughter of Awesome Blossom by On a High. He also has Dash for Cash and Easy Jet in his pedigree.  Chick’s sire has a speed index of 96. There are 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in his first 4 generations.  From the looks of this baby and her pedigree, she should be able to do just about anything a cowhorse or reiner would be able to do, and with her sire’s speed, she should also run barrels. As a 4H leader for 19 years, I can see this colt winning halter classes anywhere, and with her all-around background, I think she will perform well in just about any event.

2016 Buckskin Filly, “Carrie”

Date of Birth: April 04, 2016  Date of Pictures: September 24, 2016

Sire:  QB Mighty Blue Jack AQHA 4111335 Grullo Roan Stallion (Max)

Dam:  Bar S Sugar, AQHA 3804477 Red Dun Mare (Karen)

This filly’s dam has Leo, Driftwood, Beaver Creek, Hancock, Gunsmoke, and Rusty Man Reed in her first 3 generations. Carrie’s sire has Blue Valentine,Roan Hancock, Mito Paint, Red Man, Double Express, Tyrees Watch, Mighty Deck, and 2-Eyed Jack in his first 4 generations. The majority of Trixie’s siblings have become cow horses with those in competition being team ropers and calf ropers. These colts have good minds, and although predominantly foundation bred, there is just enough speed in Max’s pedigree to give them the speed they need to catch crossbred cattle. Trixie also has one sister who excelled at reining and has been shown in working cow horse. Most of the owners of Trixie’s siblings have targeted team roping; but she certainly should be considered for team sorting and penning. All siblings have had excellent dispositions, good minds and have been easy to train. As you can see, this filly has wonderful conformation, and her color is also a plus.

2016 Buckskin stud "Cash”

Date of Birth: April 08, 2016 Date of Pictures: August 13, 2016 and September 4, 2016

Dam: Oro Sabina AQHA #X0630329 Buckskin Mare (Sable)

Sire: LikeMyers AQHA 5258355, Red Roan Stud (Chick)

If you are looking for a barrel prospect, look no further.  Cash’s dam, Sable, carries RaiseaNative, Special Secret, Prospective Silver, Sugar Bars and Docs Tom Cat bloodlines, and she is a full sister to 2 excellent barrel horses, Catman and Tomcat, both running 1D times.  Sable is broke to ride and well started on barrels, but we felt that she would be such an outstanding addition to our broodmare band that we decided to breed rather than show her. Tomcat is being run in Kansas by Lee Ann Lytle and her Daughter, Kaycee, and he is running 1D times. Afton Vititow trained Catman, and his new owner, Carolyn Van Lare is running him in Arkansas and placing him consistently in the 1D or top 2D times.  Dandy’s sire, “Chick,” is a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and a granddaughter of Awesome Blossom by On a High. Chick’s sire has a speed index of 96. He also has Dash for Cash and Easy Jet in his pedigree and has 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in his first 4 generations.  From the looks of this baby and his pedigree, he should certainly be able to do just about any event requiring speed, and like both his parents, he is extremely gentle and wants to please. This is only the second colt from Sable and Chick.  Sables colts by Max are now starting to perform, but Cash only has one brother, who is just a yearling.  They both have good minds and great dispositions so we are confident they will capable of excelling at any speed event the owner wants.

2016 bay Filly. AQHA Filly "Copycat"

Date of Birth: June 20, 2016  Date of Picture: December 16. 2016

Dam:  DD Glory Dancer, AQHA X0661855 (Glory)

Sire: LikeMyers AQHA 5258355, Red Roan Stud (Chick)

Copycat’s dam is a race-bred Raise a Native mare that has 3 of the Rocking N Ranch stallions that have produced barrel horses, reining and roping horses in her pedigree. Her grand dam has produced 2 1D barrel horses, and her sire, DialDollyforMuscle, (Bisquit) has produced many barrel horses and a grand champion halter mare that placed 3rd in the AQHA 2014 World Show and is also a World Champion buckskin association world champion Barrel mare.  He also was the sire of the 2016 AQHA World Reserve Champion pole and barrel mare. He also has produced several calf roping and PRCA team roping horses, and we are standing one of his calf roping sons for the 2017 season. Copycat’s sire “Chick,” is a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and a granddaughter of Awesome Blossom by On a High. He also has Dash for Cash and Easy Jet in his pedigree.  Chick’s sire has a RACE ROM with a speed index of 96. There are 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in his first 4 generations.  From the looks of this baby and her pedigree with speed on both sides, we think she is a particularly good prospect for barrels. This is only the second time we have bred Glory to Chick so we have no sibling info to pass along other than Samson, her brother is gentle, learns quickly, and his owner is very pleased with him.

2016 AQHA Sorrel Race-Bred Stud colt "Corona"
Date of Birth: April 12, 2016  Date of Pictures: September 13, 2016

Dam: Our Angel Hour (TB) AQHA T0577219 2005 Sorrel Mare (Angel)

Sire: Sire Likemeyers, AQHA No. 5258355-Red Roan Stud (Chick)

Corona’s Dam, Angel, has won over $60,000 on the track.  She Has Damascus, Native Dancer, Forty Niner, Raise a Native, and Bold Ruler is in her Pedigree two times. She has a wonderful disposition and rides like a reining quarter horse. She has passed her quiet disposition on to her babies as her first colt is being handled by an 11-year old.  Corona has the same gentle disposition and good mind.   Corona’s sire, “Chick,” is a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and a granddaughter of Awesome Blossom by On a High. He also has Dash for Cash and Easy Jet in his pedigree.  Chick’s sire has a speed index of 96. There are 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in his first 4 generations.  From the looks of this baby and his pedigree with speed on both sides, he should be able to do just about anything requiring speed, and we consider him as a particularly good prospect for barrels. He definitely has the speed he needs for any running event, but the added plus with this baby is his outstanding disposition and the good mind he displayed during halter breaking.

2016 AQHA Blue Roan filly "Cricket"

D.O.B. April 5, 2016 Date of Pictures: October 20, 2016

Sire:  QB Mighty Blue Jack AQHA 4111335, Grullo roan stallion (Max)

Dam:  DD Native Topshot AQHA X0702175 2012 bay mare (Topsy)

This filly’s dam (Topsy) is by Dial Dolly for Muscle (Bisquit) who has produced several ROM roping horses, a world champion barrel mare, and the 2016 AQHA reserve World pole and barrel mare. Topsy’s dam is a full sister to our stallion, Native Flash Dance, and is a full sister to the dam that produced the 2016 AQHA reserve world champion pole and barrel mare mentioned above.   Trixie’s sire (Max) is a grandson of Blue Valentine, and has Hancock, Mito Paint, Red Man, Double Express, Tyrees Watch, Mighty Deck, and 2-Eyed Jack in his first 4 generations.

Cricket is Topsy’s first foal, and so, we don’t have any sibling information, but we can already see that she has the typical good mind that is a characteristic of the Rocking N babies. With this breeding that combines Blue Valentine, Doc’s Prescription (Bisquit) and Raise a Native, she is a candidate for either roping or timed events.  She is halter broke, has a great disposition, and with her color and build, she would also make a great 4H project.

Congratulations to Jim and Stacey Kennedy who bought Cricket.

2016 Roan Filly “Delila”

Date Of Birth: April 15, 2016  Date of Picture: September 24, 2016

Dam:  QB Stormy Dell Poco AQHA 4222655 Dun Mare (Stormy)

Sire:  QB Mighty Blue Jack AQHA 4111335 Grullo Roan Stallion (Max)

Delila’s dam is a double bred Poco Bueno mare and is a great granddaughter of Poco Bueno on the top side.  Her grandfather, Poco Club had an ROM in cutting. She also has Poco Dell, Beaver Creek, and Silver Cash on her bottom side.  She is a great granddaughter of Poco Bueno on both sides.Delila’s sire is a Blue Valentine, 2-eyed Jack stallion that has been on the Rocking N Ranch since he was a baby. His grandsire, Tyrees Watch, is an AQHA Champion and has ROMs in several roping events.  He has also produced 10 youth champions and the was reserve world champion heeling horse and the 2005 world youth champion, with other offspring exceling and earning ROMs at all roping events.  Max is a good roping horse himself, and has produced many roping and reining horses.  Since he has Mito Paint and RaiseANative on his bottom side, he has enough speed to pass along to his offspring to catch even the fastest crossbred calves.  Stormy, Delila’s dam, has been bred to Max for every colt she has produced, and they have all been used as cow horses.  All are extremely gentle and good minded.  The last filly we sold was to Garrett Walker from West Monroe, LA who bought Delila’s coming 3-year-old sister last January. Garrett says she is already coming out of the box and has more sense than any other older roping horse on their place.  Garret is only 15 now and broke her himself.  Delila almost comes with a guarantee…she will be a cowhorse.

2016 Bay Roan Stud “Duster”

Date of Birth:  April 17, 2016  Date of Pictures:  September 13, 2016 and July 03, 2016

Sire:  Likemeyers 5258355 Red Roan Stallion (Chick)

Dam: QB Ms Red Valentine 4089066 Bay Mare (Pebbles)

Duster’s dam, “Pebbles,” is a double bred Blue Valentine mare.  Her sire was by Gooseberry, one of the best known of the Blue Valentine studs.  The Blue Valentines are very well known for their roping, ranch work & steer tripping in competition and their solid performance in ranch work. Blue Valentines are just now cow horses. In 1968, Blue Valentine was entered in a barrel race (he had never been run on barrels) and took 3rd at the annual Casper, Wyoming pro rodeo, an all-girl competition. Over the years, many members of the syndicate families that owned him took turns at competing on Blue Valentine in rodeo events.  Blue Valentine horses are known for their gentle disposition, bone frame, good feet, and their excellent minds. Duster’s sire, “Chick” is a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and a granddaughter of Awesome Blossom by On a High. He also has Dash for Cash and Easy Jet in his pedigree.  His sire holds a race ROM, and his speed index was 96.   There are 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in his first 4 generations.  This is the 4th crop of colts offered for sale by this stud so we have no siblings old enough to be top performers, but we have no doubt that they will make top cow and speed event horses.   This colt is one of the gentlest on the place.  He has not yet been halter broke, but you can pick up all his feet, and he will even drink water out of a bottle!!  He has one coming 3-year old full sister who lives in Chicago, and she is being used by a 4H leader as a lesson horse.  We also think that Duster would make a wonderful all-around 4H horse.

2016 Red Roan Stud “Jack”

Date of Birth: April 22, 2016  Date of Pictures: October 20, 2016

Dam:  PS Bucks Gaybar  AQHA X0702282 Bay Mare (Gayla)

Sire:  Likemeyers AQHA 5258355 Red Roan Stallion (Chick)

If you are looking for a barrel prospect, check out  Jack’s dam, Gayla, who is by one of our studs who has the speed and disposition we look for in barrel horses, “NF Native Flash Dance.” Flash’s sire and grandsire both have race ROMs)  Jack’s dam is Dinah Jack, a Gay Bar King/Moon Deck mare, who has produced several all-around and reining horses, and has been a valuable addition to our broodmare band for many years.  Dina has Two Eyed Jack, Gay Bar King, Moon Deck, and Go Moon Go, who has a Race SI-100/AAAT/ROM also in her pedigree.  These horses also have shown reining ability and their confirmation and versatility have made them producers of great 4H prospects.

Jack’s sire, Chick, is a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and a granddaughter of Awesome Blossom by On a High. He also has Dash for Cash and Easy Jet in his pedigree.  There are 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in his first 4 generations.  There are 2 other siblings to Jack, and the oldest is coming 3. Her owner is very pleased with her and just emailed me to say, “You've hit the nail on the head again with your breeding. Dolly is so fantastic, and we are so pleased with her!” Jack also has some good cow horses in his pedigree, and he would also make a roping horse.  His granddam and grandsire on his dam’s side have produced many roping horses so don’t overlook this stud colt if you want a roping prospect.  Actually, we can’t think of anything this colt won’t be able to do.

2016 AQHA Bay Filly, “Jamie”

Date of Birth:   April 17, 2016; Dates of Pictures: August 13, 2016 and October 20, 2016

Dam:  Docs Iris Tivio AQHA 4324058, Sorrel  2002 mare (Iris)

Sire:  “Sire: PS Native Flashdance AQHA X0613391 Buckskin 2002 Stallion (Flash)

Jamie’s dam is a granddaughter of Doc’s Prescription on her Dam’s side, and a Granddaughter of Boss Nowata Star on her sire’s side.  Both of these horses were NCHA money earners, and Nowata Star also was a reserve world champion reining horse. She is a great granddaughter of Doc Bar and also has Poco Bueno and Lightning Bar in her pedigree.

Lilly’s sire, Flash, is a stallion by Prospective Silver, a race ROM stud that stood at the Rocking N ranch until he died at age 22.  He is out of a Raise a Native mare who was sired by another of our Race ROM studs, Hot Shot Divi, whose sire, Top Divi, won 4th in the All American Futurity. Flash was trained for barrels (See our stud page) but when Buck died, he had to become herd stallion. With the versatility in this pedigree, Jamie has the breeding to excel in barrels, roping, and reining. Jamie is only the second colt sired by Flash so we don’t have any sibling info yet. If you will study this filly’s conformation, you will see that she could also stand at Halter and would be an excellent 4H project.

2016 Black Stud “Jet”

Date of Birth: April 06, 2016  Date of Pictures: October 20, 2016

Dam: TC Prissy Chantella AQHA 3743963 Bay Roan Mare (Prissy)

Sire: PS Native Flashdance AQHA X0613391 Buckskin Stallion (Flash)

Jet’s dam is a TC Bronson Sun Frost, Jet Deck, Twister Jet, Doc Bar, and Driftwood mare. Like most of the Sun Frost offspring, she is as comfortable with speed events as cow events. Her colts have not only excelled at barrel racing, but they also have made excellent team roping horses. This mare was born on the ranch where Sun Frost was born, and we feel very fortunate that we have such an awesome mare in our broodmare band.  She is 18 years old now, and none of her foals have ever disappointed us.  Jet’s sire, Flash, was born on the ranch and is a Raise A Native, Dividend, Sugar Bars, Depth Charge, Special Secret, and Citation Bars stud.  Flash’s sire and grandsire, Hot Shot Divi, both have Race ROMs, and both have produced 1D barrel horses and roping horses.  Jet’s siblings have proven that Sun Frost horses are equally comfortable in the roping arena as in running events, as all his full siblings have made top barrel horses as well as top roping horses, and some have been great at both events.  In addition to his looks, this colt has a great personality!

(This grand champion halter mare has the same breeding as JR). This year, one of Bisquit’s daughters out of a Rocking N mare showed in the AQHA World performance show in July, 2016.  She is now the 2016 reserve champion pole and barrel mare.  If you want a good all-around filly that could rope, rein, run barrels or be a great 4H project, don’t overlook Kitten.

2016 Bay Filly “Lacey”

Date of Birth: April 21, 2016  Date of Pictures: September 24, 2016

Dam: RN Go Vicki Go AQHA 4916069 (Vicky)

Sire: PS Native Flashdance AQHA X0613391 Buckskin Stallion (Flash)

Lacey’s dam (Vicki) has Go Man Go, Sun Frost and Jet Deck breeding. Vicki’s sire, PC Fire N Smoak, was the 1993 5-State Breeders Barrel Futurity Champion, and his sire, Doc's Oak, is in the NCHA Hall of Fame and was 4TH in the NCHA World Champion Finals. Lacey’s sire, Flash, is a stallion by Prospective Silver, a race ROM stud that stood at the Rocking N ranch until he died at age 22.  Flash is out of a Raise a Native mare who was sired by another of our Race ROM studs, Hot Shot Divi, whose sire, Top Divi, won 4th in the All American Futurity.  Lacey has several full siblings, and the versatility in this pedigree has given them the ability to excel in barrels, roping, and reining. Of the 4 full siblings, one is well on his way to becoming a top barrel horse, one is making an all-around since he reins and runs barrels, one team ropes, and the 2013 sibling’s owner is planning on his being as good a team roper as the first horse he bought from the Rocking N, who had a similar pedigree and made a top heading horse for him and a top barrel horse for his daughter. Vicki’s first colt (Sherlock) is owned by Abigail Willingham, and Abby and Sherlock are presently leading in barrels in Abby’s HS rodeo Association (WYRA).  Look at this filly’s conformation. She would make an awesome 4-H project, and I can’t think of any event she in which she couldn’t excel.

2016 Bay Roan Filly “Lilly”

Date of Birth: April 18, 2016  Date of Pictures: September 24, 2016

Sire:  PS Native Flashdance AQHA X0613391 Buckskin Stallion (Flash)

Lilly’s dam is a granddaughter of Blue Valentine on the bottom side’ and her sire is Wimps King Buck, an AQHA Champion that is a grandson of King 234 and King Wimp, who is an AQHA Champion, and a great grandson of Wimpy and Raisin Sand. He is 100% foundation.  She also has Lightning Rey in her pedigree.  Most of April’s colts have made good roping and cow horses.  This is only the second one that has Flash for a sire, making her not only a prime candidate for roping and cow work but also a prime candidate for barrel racing. With the versatility in this pedigree, Lilly has the breeding to excel in barrels, roping, and reining.  Lilly’s dam has produced one top 4H all-around filly, and if you will study this filly’s conformation, you will see that she could also stand at Halter.

Congratulations to Carolyn, Mazzi, and Fallon Van Lare of Greenwood, Ar who bought Lilly.

2016 AQHA Buckskin Filly "Lola"

Dam: DD Bea Bea AQHA 4765840 (BeaBea)

Sire: PS Native Flashdance AQHA X0613391 (Flash)

Lola’s dam was raised on the rocking N ranch as was her dam, her granddam, and her great granddam, who was a 4-H State Champion in reining.  BeaBea’s dam, has produced 5 1D barrel horses and was one of 12 full siblings, all of which were either top barrel horses or roping horses that earned ROMs.  We take turns breeding BeaBea to Flash and to LikeMyers, a Chick’s Beduino stud who also stands on the Rocking N Ranch. Both stallions have produced barrel horses that have also roped and have had the good minds that we are noted for producing. One of BeaBea’s full sisters was an all-around champion in a 4H state show.  Lola’s sire Flash, is a stallion by Prospective Silver, a race ROM stud that stood at the Rocking N ranch until he died at age 22.  He is out of a Raise a Native mare who was sired by another of our Race ROM studs, Hot Shot Divi, whose sire, Top Divi, won 4th in the All American Futurity. Flash was trained for barrels (See our stud page) but when Buck died, he had to become herd stallion.  Lola also has King 234, Doc’s Prescription, Top Divi, and Depth Charge in her pedigree. This colt should be able to do any event, and with her beautiful conformation and coloring, she would be hard to overlook in any 4-H event

2016 Rabicano AQHA filly “Rosey”

Date of Birth: April 22, 2016 Date of Pictures: September 09, 2016 and October 20, 2016

Dam: Frenchmans Doc Kitty AQHA 4485688 Sorrel Mare (Kitty)

Rosey’s dam is a granddaughter of Frenchman’s Guy, who is a Sun Frost horse known for being a leading sire of barrel horses.  She also has Dividend, Lightning Bar, Two Eyed Jack, Driftwood and Doc Bar in her pedigree.  Rosey’s sire, “Chick,” is a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and a granddaughter of Awesome Blossom by On a High. Chick’s sire has a speed index of 96. He also has Dash for Cash and Easy Jet in his pedigree.  There are 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in his first 4 generations. We think Rosey will make a top notch barrel horse, she also could be an all-around since both parents have close up cutting, reining, roping, and race horses in their pedigrees. This filly has wonderful conformation and as can be seen from these photos, she is a rabicano so will stand out anywhere she goes. Having been a 4H leader for 19 years, I think this filly can win halter classes, and with her all-around background, I think she will perform well in just about any event.

2016 AQHA sorrel stud colt, “Rusty”

Date of Birth:  April 12, 2016  Date of Picture: Sept 24, 2016

Dam: Sunshine Own Gold AQHA 4472738 2003 palomino mare (Sunshine)

Sire:  DD Copper King, AQHA No. 4758877 (J.R.)

Rusty’s full siblings have made outstanding cowhorses, but that is not a surprise since “Sunshine” is a daughter of Docs Poco Wimpy and her grandsire is Doc’s Prescription, both winners in the cutting ring. Rusty’s sire, “J.R.” (DD Copper King) is out of a daughter of a State Champion Reining mare that was a top working cow horse. His grandsire was a race ROM stud that bred at the Rocking N for 22 years. J.R. spent the 2016 winter roping and sorting cattle at a big ranch, and the ranch manager, who rode him, said he never made a mistake. J.R.’s sire, “Bisquit” (DialDollyForMuscle), is a grandson of Doc’s Prescription. Bisquit stood at the Rocking N for 16 years and produced many fine roping horses and barrel horses.  He is the sire of a calf roping horse we are now standing; and he also sired a grand-champion halter mare, who also placed 3rd in the AQHA 2016 World Show.  She is also a world champion barrel mare in the Buckskin Association. (This grand champion halter mare has the same breeding as JR). This year, one of Bisquit’s daughters out of a Rocking N mare showed in the AQHA World performance show in July, 2016 and is now the 2016 reserve champion pole and barrel mare!  If you are looking for a good stud colt with great conformation and disposition that is bred to rope, rein, or be a great 4H project or ranch horse, don’t overlook Rusty.

2016 AQHA Bay Filly “Sarah”

Date of Birth: April 7, 2015  Date of Picture: September 24, 2016

Dam: PS Sparkle Dancer AQHA X0662696 (Sparkle)

Sire:  Likemeyers,  AQHA 5258355 Red Roan Stud (Chick)

Sarah’s dam is a great granddaughter of Raise a Native, and is by Rightfully, an English race horse who had a speed index of 114.  In his first 4 generations, Rightfully has such greats as Raise a Native, Nasrullah, Count fleet (full brother to 1972 triple-crown winner, Count Speed), Dandy Bar, Jaipur, and Swaps. Sparkle’s sire is Prospective Silver, who had a Race ROM and had Citation Bars and Sugar Bars in his pedigree. He stood for 22 years at the Rocking N until his death.

Sarah’s sire (Chick) has 6 horses in the AQHA Hall of Fame in his first 4 generations.  His grandsire is Chicks Beduino by Beduino, and his granddam is Awesome Blossom by On a High on his sire’s side. He also has Chick’s Deck, Dash for Cash, Easy Jet and Broom Straw on his sire’s side.  His dam’s grandsire is Mr. Meyers, a son of Miss Meyers and Go Man Go, both AQHA Hall-of-Famers.  With the speed and reining in this colt’s background, as well as her great disposition, pedigree, and conformation, she is a natural to be competitive at racing, reining, jumping, English pleasure or barrel racing.  Most of Sarah’s siblings have gone to the track, two are in training for jumping, and one will be used in barrel racing. These siblings were all by DD Copper King, who was a calf roping and reining stallion. Sarah is only the second baby of Sparkle that is by Chick. Undoubtedly, she will have the capability to excel at any speed event, jumping, or English Pleasure.  She has a quiet disposition, the good mind we pride ourselves on, and moves nicely so probably could make any type of a horse.

2016 Sorrel Filly “Sassy”
June 7, 2016:- Date of Pictures: July 3, 2016 and December16, 2016
Dam: - Dash with Honor AQHA #X0581417 2000 sorrel mare (Dasher)
Sire: Likemeyers AQHA #5258355 (Chick)

Sassy’s dam is race bred and has 7 Hall of famers in her pedigree with such horses as Dash for Cash, Jet of Honor, Jet Deck, Moon Deck, Rocket Wrangler, Leo, Three Bars, Raise a native, and Lightning Bar. She has several full siblings who are doing well at barrels, and one who is calf roping. Jetta’s sire is a Chicks Beduino, Awesome Blossom cross, and there are 6 Hall of Famers in the first 4 generations of his pedigree, including Dash for Cash, Beduino, On a High, Easy Jet, and Go Man Go. Jetta has a great disposition, is easy to handle, and with her background, she is a prime candidate for barrels.
Sassy’s sire, “Chick,” is a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and a granddaughter of Awesome Blossom by On a High. He also has Dash for Cash and Easy Jet in his pedigree. Chick’s sire has a speed index of 96. There are 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in his first 4 generations. From the looks of this baby and her pedigree with speed on both sides, we think she is a particularly good prospect for barrels. Also, she has a full sister that is 3, and her owner has advised us that she has already shown great potential, has a quiet disposition, and from the performance she has already shown, will undoubtedly make a great barrel horse. Dasher has produced colts on this ranch for the last 11 years, and we have never had one that has not lived up to our expectations.

2016 Palomino stud colt, “Striker”

Date of Birth: April 22, 2016  Date of Pictures: October 20, 2016

Dam:  DD Copper Penny, AQHA 5144626, 2009 Buckskin Mare (Penny)

His grandsire on his sire’s side is Chicks Beduino by Beduino, and his granddam is Awesome Blossom by On a High on his sire’s side. He also has Dash for Cash, Easy Jet, Prissy Gold Digger, and Broom Straw.  His dam’s grandsire is Mr. Meyers, a son of Miss Meyers and Go Man Go, both AQHA Hall-of-Famers.  With the speed and reining in this colt’s background, as well as his great disposition, pedigree, and conformation, he is a natural to go to the track, rein, jump, do English pleasure or make a barrel horse. Undoubtedly, he is a prospect for any speed event, has one half sibling that ropes, and shouldn’t be overlooked for a or English Pleasure prospect.  He has a quiet disposition and moves nicely so probably could make any type of a horse.  Striker’s dam is out of a daughter of a State Champion Reining mare that is a top working cow horse. Her grandsire was a race ROM stud that bred at the Rocking N for 22 years. Her sire, “Bisquit” is a Doc’s Prescription grandson, who stood at the Rocking N and produced many fine roping and barrel horses.  He is the sire of a calf roping horse we are now standing; he also sired a grand champion halter mare, a world champion barrel mare who also placed 5th in the AQHA World Show in 2015. (This grand champion halter mare has the same breeding as Penny). This year, one of Bisquit’s daughters out of a Rocking N mare showed in the AQHA World performance show in July, 2016, and she is now the 2016 reserve champion pole and barrel mare.  Striker has the breeding to do any event.

Congratulations to Lanny, Claire and Cameron who bought Striker.

2016 AQHA Bay Roan Filly “Tamarra”
Date of Birth: April 10, 2016  Date of Picture: September 24, 2016

Dam: PS Raise a Sundance AQHA X0650301  (Tia)

Sire: Sire Likemeyers AQHA 5258355 Red Roan Stud (Chick)

Tamarra’s dam is a full sister to our stallion, Flash, and she is also a full sister to Dancing Prospect, who was the dam of the 2016 AQHA Performance World Show Reserve Champion Pole and Barrel Mare, who was born on this ranch.  She has Raise a Native, Dividend, Three Bars, Top Divi, and Citation Bars in her first 4 generations along with two Race ROM horses, 3 AQHA Champions, and two Hall of Famers.  This is the first foal out of Tia by Chick, and she is showing great potential as she is quiet, well-coordinated, and is very gentle.  Tamarra’s sire, “Chick,” is a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and a granddaughter of Awesome Blossom by On a High. He also has Dash for Cash and Easy Jet in his pedigree.  Chick’s sire has a speed index of 96. There are 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in his first 4 generations.  From the looks of this baby and her pedigree with speed on both sides, she should be able to do just about anything, but we consider her as a particularly good prospect for barrels. Also, having been a 4H leader for 19 years, I can see this colt winning halter classes anywhere, and in addition to barrels, she would probably be able to do any event.

2016 AQHA Black Filly “Tina”
Date of Birth: April 5 2016  Date of Pictures:  February 16, 2016

Her sire is Flash, who has Raise-a-Native, Citation Bars, Dividend, and TopDivi in his background.  His sire and grandsire have race ROMs.  He was trained for barrels but took over the job of herd stud when his sire suddenly died.  He has a great disposition that he passes on to his foals.  Tina has full siblings who run barrels and rope. She also has great conformation. So if you are looking for a 4H project or an all- around, this filly will not disappoint you.  Think how great she would look without her winter coat!!

2016 Bay Stud Colt “Victor”

Date of Birth: April 25, 2016 Date of Pictures: September 24, 2016

Dam: NF Gayla Moonflash AQHA X0689098 (Gayla 2)

Sire: LikeMyers AQHA 5258355 2009 red roan stallion (Chick)

If you are looking for a barrel prospect, check out Victor’s dam, Gayla 2, who is by one of our studs who has the speed and disposition we look for in barrel horses, “NF Native Flash Dance.” Flash and his sire both have race ROMs)  Jack’s dam is Dina Jack, a Gay Bar King/Moon Deck mare, who has produced several all-around and reining horses, and has been a valuable addition to our broodmare band for many years.  Dina has Two Eyed Jack, Gay Bar King, Moon Deck, and Go Moon Go, who has a 100/AAAT/ROM in her pedigree.  These horses have shown reining ability and their confirmation and versatility have made them producers of great 4H prospects.  Victor’s sire (Chick) has 6 horses in the AQHA Hall of Fame in his first 4 generations. His sire has a speed index of 96. His grandsire on his sire’s side is Chicks Beduino by Beduino, and his granddam is Awesome Blossom by On a High on his sire’s side. Also would be a great 4H.

2015 Buckskin Gelding “Dandy”

Date of Birth: April 15, 2015:  Date of Pictures: September 4, 2016

Dam: Oro Sabina AQHA X0630329 Buckskin Mare (Sable)

Sire: LikeMyers AQHA 5258355 Red Roan Stallion (Chick)

Dandy’s dam carries RaiseaNative, Special Secret, Prospective Silver, Sugar Bars and Docs Tom Cat bloodlines, and she is a full sister to 2 excellent barrel horses, Catman and Tomcat, both running 1D times. She is broke to ride and well started on barrels, but we felt that she would be such an outstanding addition to our broodmare band that we decided to breed rather than show her. Tomcat is being run in Kansas by Lee Ann Lytle and her Daughter, Kaycee, and he is running 1D times. Afton Vititow trained Catman, and his owner, Carolyn Van Lare is running him in Arkansas .

With the speed and reining in this colt’s background, as well as his great disposition, pedigree, and conformation, he is a natural to go to the track, rein, jump, do English pleasure or make a barrel horse. . Harvey is the first of Sparkle’s colts by Chick so we can’t provide any info on any full siblings. Undoubtedly, he is a prospect for any speed event, has one half sibling that ropes, and shouldn’t be overlooked for a jumping or English Pleasure prospect. 2015 Bay Stud “Irwin”

Date of Birth:  April 10, 2015  Date of Picture:  May 9, 2016

Dam: Nf Gayla Moonflash X0689098 mare (Gayla 2)

Sire: DD Valentine King  AQHA 5511445 (King Irwin)

Irwin is the first colt for both his dam and sire.  Gayla 2 is a daughter of a Gay Bar King/Moondeck mare that has been a valued producing mare on this ranch for 14 years.  DD Valentine King, Irwin’s sire,  has just turned 3, and presently, is in calf roping training at James Free’s in Magnolia, Texas.  King’s dam is a calf roping mare, also trained by James Free.  Irwin’s dam has produced many colts for us, and they have become outstanding roping and barrel horses.  In this picture, Irwin is only 10 weeks old.  We will soon be updating his pictures, but he is showing great potential, even in this picture.   With the size and build of this colt and the fact that both parents are calf roping horses, it is certainly safe to say that Irwin will also make a good roper.  Gayla 2 is by Flash, one of our barrel stallions, and this colt should have the speed to catch anything, and could make an all around.  Dial Dolly for Muscle (Bisquit) is Irwin’s grandsire on his sire’s side.  Bisquit is Docs Prescription breeding, and has produced many outstanding roping and barrel horses while standing at the Rocking N.  (See our Success Story page for information about Bisquit)

Congratulations to Larry South who bought Irwin.

2013 Sorrel Filly "Leota" NF Leota Dancecat AQHA X0712671

Date of Birth:  October 30, 2013  Date of Pictures:  May 26, 2015

Dam: MBJ Copper Blue Cat AQHA 5149992  (Coco)

Sire: PS Native Flashdance AQHA X0613391 Buckskin Stallion (Flash)

Leota’s sire is NF Flashdance, a stallion by Prospective Silver, who was a race ROM stallion, who stood for 22 years at Rocking N Ranch. He sired many barrel and roping horses. His pedigree had Nasrullah, Citation Bars, and Sugar Bars. Flash was out of a Raise a Native mare who was sired by another of our Race ROM studs, Hot Shot Divi, whose sire won 4th in the All American Futurity and had Dividend and Depth Charge in his pedigree. This filly is now 27 months old and has been started under saddle. She already has halter conformation, and she has a very gentle disposition. She should make an all around, since her dam comes from cow and reining background, and her sire is a barrel horse. Leota’s disposition is wonderful, and that was shown when she was saddled and mounted for the first time. She dropped her head and rode off like she had been ridden all her life, walked and trotted, reined, and at no time had any indication that she would buck. Leota is exceptionally quiet but with her pedigree and conformation, we think she would be an outstanding calf-roping horse.

2015 Bay Filly “Mandy” NF Sun Frost Mandy AQHA X0721791

Her dam’s sire, PC Fire N Smoak, was the 1993 5-State Breeders Barrel Futurity Champion, and his sire, Doc's Oak, is in the NCHA Hall of Fame and was 4TH in the NCHA World Champion Finals.  Mandy’s sire, Flash, is a stallion by Prospective Silver, a race ROM stud that stood at the Rocking N ranch until he died at age 22.  He is out of a Raise a Native mare who was sired by another of our Race ROM studs, Hot Shot Divi, whose sire, Top Divi, won 4th in the All American Futurity. Flash was trained for barrels (See our stud page) but when Buck died, he had to become herd stallion. Mandy has several full siblings, and the versatility in this pedigree has given them the ability to excel in barrels, roping, and reining. Of the 4 full siblings, one is well on his way to becoming a top barrel horse, one is making an all-around since he reins and runs barrels, one team ropes, and the 2013 sibling’s owner is planning on his being as good a team roper as the first horse he bought from the Rocking N, who had a similar pedigree and made not only a top heading horse for him but was also a top barrel horse for his daughter. Mandy’s full brother, Sherlock, owned by Abby Willingham, is now consistently placing in the 1D times, and has been setting records in barrel times.  So far, Mandy is the tallest of the 5 full siblings at this age.

Date of Birth:  April 26, 2015  Date of Pictures:  September 3, 2016

Dam: QB Ms Red Valentine AQHA 4089066 Bay Mare  (Pebbles)

Sire: Likemeyers AQHA 5258355 Red Roan Stallion (Chick)

Redman’s dam, “Pebbles,” is a double bred Blue Valentine mare. Blue Valentine was used for roping, ranch work & steer tripping, when the calves weighed 800-900 lbs. In 1968, his owner’s daughter entered a barrel race with him (he had never been run on barrels) and he placed 3rd at the annual Casper, Wyoming pro-rodeo, an all-girl competition. Over the years, many members of the syndicate families that owned him took turns at competing on Blue Valentine in rodeo events. Pebbles’ grandsire on the top side is Gooseberry, one of the best known sons of Blue Valentine. Blue Valentine horses are known for their gentle disposition, good frame, good feet, and excellent minds. Redman’s sire, “Chick” is a grandson of Chick’s Beduino and a granddaughter of Awesome Blossom by On a High. He also has Dash for Cash and Easy Jet in his pedigree. His sire holds a race ROM, and his speed index was 96. There are 6 AQHA Hall of Famers in his first 4 generations. This is the 4th crop of colts offered for sale by this stud, so performance records are somewhat limited. However, Redman’s 4-year old sister is now being used to train horsemanship in a 4H youth program.

2015 Buckskin Gelding “Rocket” NF Sun Frost Rocket AQHA X0722017

Congratulations to Afton Vititow on her purchase of Star.

2015 Dun Filly "Trixie" MBJ Valentine Trixie AQHA 5719352

Date of Birth: April 19, 2015  Date of Picture: September 24, 2016

Dam:  Bar S Sugar AQHA 3804477 Red Dun Mare (Karen)

Sire: QB Mighty Blue Jack AQHA 4111335 Grullo Roan Stallion (Max)

This filly’s dam has Leo, Driftwood, Beaver Creek, Hancock, Gunsmoke, and Rusty Man Reed in her first 3 generations.   Trixie’s sire has Blue Valentine, Hancock, Mito Paint, Red Man, Double Express, Tyrees Watch, Mighty Deck, and 2-Eyed Jack in his first 4 generations.
